Boat Dealer Wisconsin Gage Boats

Quite simply, a Gage-Hacker is one of the best wooden speedboats available anywhere in the world. Search around and you will not find an equal. Even an inexperienced boater or yachtsman can instantly recognize the quality of the joinery, the elegance of the design and the smooth performance of the machinery and vessel as she glides effortlessly through the choppiest of waters.

The Gage-Hacker brand has always been recognized as something special in wooden boats. They are known for their smooth ride, beautiful lines and great craftsmanship. The tradition dates back to the late 1950's when Russell and Bill Gage decided to team up with famed naval architect, John Hacker to design boats specifically for the rough waters of Lake Geneva. John even waived his design fee to have his name associated with these fine vessels - unfortunately; it was the last project he worked on before his death.

Bill and Russ recognized the necessity to combine good looks with great performance and believed you did not have to sacrifice one for the other. The boats were originally all built at the boatyard in Williams Bay using the traditional plank on frame method. Those boats, some going on nearly fifty years of age, have withstood the test of time with most still in use today. For example, one of the original 26' versions that originally cost less than $20,000 was recently being marketed for over $200,000.

With the introduction of the new "26' & 29' Tradition" models in 2007, the legacy has been carried on, but updated and refreshed with modern technology by improving performance and reducing maintenance, while incorporating the very best of the design styles from the classic runabout era.

The boats are built using the cold mold process with triple planking and hermetically sealing the wood with epoxy sealer. This virtually eliminates the opportunity for rot and greatly reduces the required maintenance due to UV exposure. The bottoms are designed for a smooth ride with a convex shape and large amount of dead rise for this type of vessel. Mechanically, only the finest equipment is used and as for the woodwork - it truly speaks for itself. The elegant and durable Honduran and African mahogany are simply a joy to view. Extremely functional and ergonomically designed interior layouts maximize usable space to allow for casual fun on virtually any body of water.

A Gage-Hacker is truly an investment in quality and something that can be enjoyed for decades to come. Sculpture and art are wonderful to view, but are hard to go out on for an afternoon in the sun or dinner at the lake house or villa. Don't live life regretting what you didn't do. If you appreciate quality, having a Gage-Hacker is something you will thank yourself for owning every day.
